Upin & Ipin are Cutie Club KPJ's friends

FUN:The club, which is open to patients aged 6 to 12, will be launched at 20 hospitals under KPJ Healthcare Bhd soon

Nur Athirah Amani, Ahmad Luth Shamel and Muhammad Aiman Rezahan Shahrar who were born at Ampang Puteri Hospital six years ago were named the first three members of the club.

The Cutie Club KPJ is open to the hospital's patients aged between 6 and 12.

KPJ Healthcare Bhd managing director Datin Paduka Siti Sa'adiah Sheikh Bakir said through this "friendship with Upin and Ipin", it was hoped that the children would think of KPJ hospitals as a holistic professional health service provider.

"We hope that when the children watch or read about Upin and Ipin, they will think of KPJ which provides professional health services," she said at the World Health Day celebrations which was held concurrently with the launch of the Cutie Club KPJ recently.

Nur Athirah Amani, Ahmad Luth Shamel and Muhammad Aiman Rezahan Shahrar who were born six years ago at Ampang Puteri Hospital were named  the first three members of  Cutie Club KPJ.

A 30-minute showing of Upin & Ipin The Musical was also held.

Dr Ravi showed the children of Mesra kindergarten the correct way to brush their teeth.

Siti Sa'adiah said KPJ hospitals nationwide had received up to 500,000 young patients every year

She added that the club would be launched at 20 hospitals under KPJ soon.

"We want children to feel fun when visiting hospitals.  By becoming a member of the club, they can make friends with other children as well," said Siti Sa'adiah.

"She also expressed the hope that  the children would be inspired to become doctors or nurses.

She said  KPJ Healthcare was already working with Permata and Kidzania to encourage the children to  think about their ambitions.

She said card holding Cutie Club KPJ members were  entitled to a 10 per cent discount on room rates, and a five per cent discount as outpatients, as well as for pharmacy, radiology and physiotherapy services.

Sa'adiah said KPJ Healthcare was  the main sponsor of Upin and Ipin The Musical from April 14 until May 6 at Istana Budaya.

Directed by Zafri Husin, with songs composed by Datuk Suhaimi Mohd Zain and choreographed by A. Aris Kadir, the 90-minute musical will be played by 55 actors and actresses.
